From Sunday 2 – Sunday 16 April, families are encouraged to visit Priory Park to seek-out 10 pixie doors that will magically appear across the site.

🌼🐝 WILDFLOWER MEADOW

The Friends of Priory Park (FOPP) would like to develop a small wildflower meadow on the green between St John’s Brook and Coventry Road.

Wildflowers already grow in this area, but the flowers are mowed off before they get a chance to bloom. It would make a dull area more interesting and increase biodiversity by encouraging pollinating insects, butterflies and wild birds.

For the first year the only difference is that the grass would not be mowed until late summer or autumn while we see what grows. You will still be able to walk on the grass, but we would prefer that the flowers are not picked and that the area is not used for games. There is plenty of room for games in the park itself and it is safer as it is away from the traffic and pollution of the road.

Thank you to the schools and families who did a fantastic job digging and writing on leaves with messages going in with the roots, and lovely to see Jerry's family there to plant his dedicated tree.

Thank you to our @mayor_of_warwick who got stuck in and did a great job planting one of the trees. Also thank you to the County's Lord Lieutenant for his support too.

Thank you to @bestwarwickshire Warwickshire County Council's Green Shoots grant funding, the @warwick.dc Green Spaces team for their support and to Hintons Nursery for providing the trees.
